Although Markus Krosche hasn’t officially joined AC Milan, he’s already planning out moves to make if he arrives.
The latest reports haven’t outlined any progress in Milan’s pursuit of Krosche. All parties are aware of the situation and there is no rush to get anything finalised ahead of time. However, there could be another addition, which may benefit from the delay in signing Krosche.
Nevertheless, the German has not already started to think ahead. In the summer, he’d chosen – or given his agreement – to the hiring of Ruben Amorim, when also offered Oliver Glasner. So, he’s always had a little bit of involvement in the project despite not being at the club.
Now, he’s looking at other pieces of the plan.
According to Antonio Vitiello, in an editorial piece for MilanNews, the German Head of Football is already considering signings for the January mercato to ensure that the gears can turn straight away.
“It’s crucial that the German arrives as soon as possible to organise the January transfer window in advance. AC Milan will need to acquire more players in the winter transfer window to strengthen their ranks, so they must move early to prepare for transfers.
“During his five years in Frankfurt, Krosche demonstrated a very precise methodology: scouting for talented or under-hyped players and then selling them for a fortune, netting millions in capital gains.
“But be careful: this system works well in a club that lets you work calmly, where the pressure isn’t on, whereas in Milan they’re experiencing difficult years where there’s a hunger for results and little tolerance for mistakes.
“It won’t be easy at all. It will take patience to establish a player trading system.
“We’ll see if Krösche can deliver results even at a demanding team like Milan. But it’s a worthwhile attempt, because the club lacks a director who can take charge of the most important transfer decisions.
“The lack of such a figure weighed heavily on Milan this summer, especially with transfers. And above all, he’ll need to be a concrete support for the coach, a partner for Amorim in managing the many delicate situations that arise over the course of a season.”
