Eight weeks are in the books in the NFL, and it was another big weekend for former Alabama Crimson Tide football players at the next level.
Two former Alabama players played a big role in one of the biggest games in the NFL this past weekend as the Detroit Lions handed the Minnesota Vikings their first loss as the NFC North race continues to excite. Meanwhile, in a couple of offensive shootouts, two defenders had big days as well.
Here is a look at five of Alabama's biggest standouts from Week 8 of the 2026 NFL season.
Jahmyr Gibbs continues to look like one of the best running backs in the NFL as he had a big day in helping the Lions give the Vikings their first loss. Gibbs finished with 23 carries for 153 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. He also added two catches for 15 yards. Gibbs did so against one of the NFL's top defenses. He currently sits second in the NFL in rushing this season.
Just like Gibbs, Jameson Williams also had a nice day against the Vikings stout defense in helping the Lions to a 19-15 win. Williams finished with four catches for 70 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown was the game-winner that put the Lions ahead with under five minutes remaining.
Quinnen Williams has started to catch fire. Even in a 33-30 overtime loss, Williams finished with two sacks amongst seven total tackles. He was one of five players across the league this week to finish with two or more sacks, and he led that group in tackles. Williams has five sacks in the Cowboys last four games.
In a shootout 43-36 win over the Titans, Jordan Battle put up big tackle numbers. He finished the game with twelve tackles, nine of which were solo stops. He also had a pair of pass breakups.
Not much has gone right this season for the Chargers, and that continued in Week 8 as they fell 24-9 to the Rams. However, JK Scott had arguably his best game of the season which, to be fair, that shows just how much things did not go right. He punted four times for an average of 47.8 yards per punt. He put three of his punts inside the 20 and did not have any touchbacks. His long was 57 yards.
