Mike Penders And Pep Chavarria To Start; Jorrel Hato Out: Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Play Tottenham

After an impressive 2-0 win over Everton last weekend, Chelsea will head into the London derby on Saturday evening with renewed confidence.

The game against Tottenham is likely to be trickier to negotiate than many would assume, with Roberto De Zerbi’s side having managed to get their first victory under their belt earlier this week.

Xabi Alonso‘s side will still be regarded as favourites to take all three points from the match, but it won’t be all one-way traffic.

Press the next page as we share our Chelsea predicted lineup for the clash at Stamford Bridge.

Goalkeeper and Defence

Maxence Lacroix

GK – Mike Penders – with Emi Martinez sidelined with a broken jaw for up to two months, the Belgian will be handed the gloves.

CB – Josh Acheampong – after Chelsea kept their first clean sheet of the season in the Premier League, Alonso is unlikely to change his back three, with the 20-year-old keeping his spot ahead of Wesley Fofana.

CB – Maxence Lacroix – the Frenchman had a solid game at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and fans will be hoping for more of the same this weekend.

CB – Levi Colwill – after a dodgy start to the campaign, the 23-year-old needs to show more consistency.

Midfield

Pedro Neto

RWB – Pedro Neto – following his player of the match display last time out, the Portuguese international will keep his place ahead of Marco Palestra.

CM – Moises Caicedo – it is no coincidence that the Blues look more solid at the back following the return of the Ecuadorian.

CM – Jordan Henderson – the 36-year-old could start his fourth successive game. Nobody would have predicted that in the summer.

LWB – Pep Chavarria – Jorrel Hato performed well against Everton, but the Spaniard gives Alonso a bit more experience, which will be needed against the likes of Tottenham’s Mohammed Kudus.

Forwards

Cole Palmer

RW – Cole Palmer – Spurs played three at the back against Coventry, and that means the 24-year-old could go head-to-head with Micky van de Ven.

ST – Joao Pedro –  it could be an intriguing battle between the Brazilian and Jan Paul van Hecke. The pair had a training ground falling out during their time together at Brighton.

LW – Morgan Rogers – the forward did not score or provide an assist against Everton; it was only the second time that’s happened in the league this season.

Considering how consistent Rogers has been since arriving at the club, you would back him to be among the goals once again on Saturday.
