Eddie Howe is now interested in speaking to Manchester United according to Sky Sports.
With Michael Carrick set to be sacked, Sky report that their sources have told them that the former Newcastle United manager is willing to talk to Man U about taking over from Carrick.
Manchester United have won none of their last eight games in all competitions, losing five and drawing three.
The latest humiliation on Sunday as Bournemouth dominated at Old Trafford and easily won 3-0.
In total this season, Michael Carrick has won only two of twelve matches in all competitions.
Rob Dorsett of Sky Sports says that their information is that Eddie Howe is no open to holding talks with Manchester United when/if they part company with Michael Carrick.
Sky Sports News report understands that the Man U bosses were already considering who they can replace Carrick with, even before the defeat to Bournemouth amid the club’s worst-ever start to a Premier League season.
The broadcaster adding that the Man U hierachy ‘will now accelerate that process, with an expectation from insiders at the club that Michael Carrick will be relieved of his duties. That decision will ultimately come down to director of football Jason Wilcox and chief executive Omar Berrada, who will make a recommendation to co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.’
Yet another abysmal appointment by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the Glazers, the only worry is that if Michael Carrick is replaced with an elite manager such as Eddie Howe, they could potentially stop being a walking disaster. That is the club as well as the players on the pitch!
Hopefully Eddie Howe will think twice (and thrice and…) before getting into bed with the shameless and disastrous Ratcliffe and majority Man U owners.
Sky Sports News add: ‘Julian Nagelsmann and Eddie Howe are the two front runners to take over at Old Trafford. Both are available to start quickly, and neither would require any compensation to be paid. Howe, when he resigned as Newcastle manager in July, said he wanted to take a break from football to recharge his batteries. But Sky Sports News has been told he would be interested in talking to Man U, should a vacancy become available.’
Manchester United also having a dressing room made up of past their best players, massively over paid characters who think they are better than is the reality, a team that struggles to even be bothered to run around much, then worst of all somebody like Bruno Fernandes as their captain. His public undermining of the Man U team boss a total disgrace, leaving Carrick with no option but to leave his captain out on Sunday.
