Michigan State hockey dropped a few spots following a road weekend series split out east.

The Spartans dropped two spots to No. 4 in the updated USCHO.com and USA Hockey polls this week. Michigan State opened the season ranked No. 3 but moved up to No. 2 last weekend, before now dropping this week.

Michigan State salvaged a two-game series split with New Hampshire this past weekend. The Spartans were shutout 1-0 in the series opener on Friday but bounced back on Saturday to beat the Wildcats on Saturday by the final score of 2-1.

Michigan State is now 4-1-0 after the two-game series out east. Next up for the Spartans is a neutral site matchup in Texas against No. 8 North Dakota. That game will be played on Halloween night this weekend.
