Jonathan Taylor and Josh Downs aren't the only players on the Indianapolis Colts' offense teams are watching ahead of the NFL trade deadline, but so is tight end Mo Alie-Cox, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
In Fowler's weekly NFL buzz column with Dan Graziano, the two spent time discussing where things stand with Taylor as the trade deadline approaches. At the end, Fowler name-dropped Alie-Cox as a player to watch.
"Taylor isn't the Colts' only offensive player garnering interest," Fowler wrote. "Wide receiver Josh Downs and tight end Mo Alie-Cox are also on that list."
While this is the first report that has mentioned Alie-Cox as a potential trade candidate, it does make sense. He's a veteran who is set to be a free agent this offseason and could give a playoff-contending team a boost, particularly as a blocker, where he has excelled.
For the Colts, as they enter a rebuild, there are very few players who should be off-limits when it comes to trades, especially those who are in the final year of their current deals and could leave in the offseason for nothing.
Alie-Cox entered the NFL in 2018 and has spent his entire career with the Colts, appearing in 133 games and making 56 starts.
