Oxford City midfielder Scott Pollock said that his side could have no complaints at their exit from the FA Cup after losing to Leicester City.
The 25-year-old, who was playing against his boyhood club, scored in the first half to level the game up after the Hoops had fallen behind.
Pollock swung the ball in from a corner and his effort evaded everyone and flew directly into the net, sending the capacity crowd into delirium.
Despite going into the break with the score level, Leicester gradually took control in the second half and scored three times to eventually knock Oxford City out of the cup.
"We gave a good account of ourselves and we knew that in the second half they'd be at it a little bit more," Pollock told BBC Radio Oxford.
"They changed shape in the second half and that shows the level that we played at in the first half, forcing them into doing that.
"We didn't deal with it early on and then gaps opened up towards the end and we were pushing for it a little bit, I don't think we can have any complaints really."
Oxford City pulled a goal back in the second half to make it 3-2 when Josh Ashby found the top corner of the net from close range, but then fell further behind as Russell Martin's side finished the game in style.
Despite the remarkable nature of Pollock's first-half goal, the midfielder revealed that it was something he had been working on.
"Of course I meant it, I've been trying it all season," he added.
"I said before the season that I would definitely do it at some point and luckily it was today."
