The New York Giants (3-1-1) will take on the New Orleans Saints (1-4) on Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium in their sixth game of the 2026 regular season.
Opening the week, the Giants were listed as 1-point home underdogs, and that's exactly where the spread remains as of this writing.
How does the Giants Wire staff see this Week 6 battle shaking out? Here's a look at our picks and score predictions.
This is not the best matchup for the Giants, especially considering their troubling injury issues. The Saints may be 1-4, but they are an efficient third-down team that also finds success in the red zone. That doesn't bode well for Dennard Wilson's bend-but-don't-break defense, which has had a propensity for winning close games with miracle plays in the red zone. On the plus side, Jameis Winston has settled in, there will be no nasty weather on Sunday afternoon, and New York will be at home, where they have suddenly found a legitimate home-field advantage. I'll give them a slight edge, but they'll need to win on third downs.
The general public is still trying to figure out how the Saints are 1.5-point favorites in this game. All the indicators bettors look at favor the Giants. The Giants have turned the ball over five times in their last two games, so that could be it. If the Giants play an error-free game and the blitz keeps on getting home, they should cruise in this one.
I really like this matchup for the Giants. I like it even more because they are underdogs once again, at home, with a significantly better record than their opponent. The underdog mentality seems to be something the Giants feed off of. The pass rush is coming alive, and the defensive play calling has been impressive. The Giants are clearly not going to blow teams out this season, but they've been clutch in close games, and I expect that to continue on Sunday.
Once again, the Giants are underdogs at home. Last time this happened, they didn't really like it and beat the Cardinals, 36-24. I see this going in a similar direction in Week 6. Tyler Shough struggled against the Minnesota Vikings, whose pass defense is comparable to the Giants'. Now, the Vikings have a much better run defense than the Giants, but the Saints will be without Travis Etienne and possibly without Alvin Kamara, making their ground game substantially less impactful. And, after last week's ridiculous tie, the Giants will be out for blood.
The New York Giants have a strong opportunity to defeat the New Orleans Saints in Week 6, thanks to their early-season momentum and New Orleans' recent struggles. The Giants enter the matchup at 3-1-1, while the Saints are 1-4 and have lost three consecutive games, including a Week 5 defeat in which they managed just 142 total yards against Minnesota. New York can exploit those offensive struggles by pressuring rookie quarterback Tyler Shough, forcing difficult throws and limiting the Saints' ability to sustain drives. Meanwhile, Jameis Winston gives the Giants the potential for explosive plays after delivering back-to-back games with at least three touchdown passes. With home-field advantage at MetLife Stadium and an opportunity to attack a struggling Saints defense, the Giants have the pieces to control the game and secure another win in Week 6.
The New York Giants will host the New Orleans Saints in Week 6 after the disappointing tie finish versus the Washington Commanders in Week 5. Fans should expect Cam Skattebo to have his best game of the season, and James Winston’s familiarity with the Saints should allow him to walk in a special comfort attacking their secondary. It's highly unlikely that the Saints will be able to counter the physicality of the Giants' front 7, and because of that, Chris Olave will have his utilization minimized.
