William Osula's goalscoring return to the Newcastle United starting line-up was celebrated far beyond Tyneside this week, with the goal attracting praise from one of World football's greatest current players.
The young Denmark striker made his first start since the opening-day draw with Liverpool last Sunday, after returning from injury, and opened the scoring just after half-time, cooly finishing Jacob Murphy's cross.
It was his first goal of the season, with the 23-year-old looking to now pick off where he left last campaign.
Osula ended last season on a goalscoring streak, bagging five goals in the final seven games of the campaign.
He took to social media to celebrate his strike at Selhurst Park, with United team-mates among those to congratulate him.
However, one name who stood out was Real Madrid and France striker Kylian Mabppe, who simply posted: "World Class" in reply to Osula's message.
Osula is now hoping to kick on with regular starts under new head coach Matthias Jaissle, and told Chronicle Live that he was willing to play in any role his manager asked.
"I'm just here to play my job for the gaffer, wherever he wants me to play," he said.
"So whichever job he gives me, I'm ready to go out there and help the lads get the three points, which is what we need to hit our target this season.
"I'm very happy. Thank God I'm back from injury now. It's been a tough period, but I'm happy to be back with the team, and being able to help the team is really important to me, especially with the win.
"In the first half I was looking to see where the opportunities and chances were coming from, but not much came.
"So in the second half we came out with optimism and faith, knowing that if something's going to drop, we have to be alert and take it."
