RB – Jurrien Timber – 4/10 – wasted two decent chances in the first half after great deliveries from Dowman.
CB – Cristhian Mosquera – 5/10 – the Spaniard was unsurprisingly rusty in the opening exchanges, with it being his first game since August, but he grew into the match.
CB – Marli Salmon – 3/10 – the teenager was outmuscled by Loupalo-Bi for Fleetwood’s goal, and he was then hooked by Arteta at halftime. A harsh lesson for the young defender.
LB – Piero Hincapie – 5/10 – could have scored with an early header, but that was as good as it got for the Ecuadorian.
CM – Myles Lewis-Skelly – 5/10 – not much came off for the 20-year-old. He curled a shot wide, and he had to be bailed out by Meslier after a poor back pass.
AM – Kai Havertz – 4/10 – some great movement from the German, who got in behind Fleetwood’s defence time and time again, particularly in the second half.
However, Havertz’s finishing was woeful. He should have won the game for the Gunners with the chances that fell his way.
That aberration aside, Dowman played well, delivering some dangerous crosses into the box. However, he will feel he should have done better with a shot he hooked across goal in the first half.
ST – Viktor Gyokeres – 4/10 – the Swede did score with a scruffy effort, but his all round performance was extremely poor. He was dominated by a defence that has struggled to keep clean sheets in League Two.
LW – Ceadach O’Neill – 6/10 – one of the few positives to come out of the game. The Northern Ireland international was handed his senior club debut by Arteta, and he caused plenty of problems down Fleetwood’s right. It was his cross that led to Gyokeres’s equaliser.
Ben White – 4/10 – missed a gilt-edged chance in stoppage time, and didn’t look particularly comfortable defensively, shanking a clearance for a corner.
Eberechi Eze – 5/10 – created White’s late opportunity, but he didn’t offer much else after replacing O’Neill midway through the second half.
Bruno Guimaraes – 3/10 – missed the crucial spot kick after Fleetwood keeper Jay Lynch wasn’t fooled by his stuttered run-up.
Ezri Konsa – N/A – replaced Myles Lewis-Skelly with 10 minutes left, and he didn’t have much time to make an impression.
