Bangladesh National Cricket Team off-spinner Aliss Al Islam has landed in trouble after being reported for a suspect bowling action following the ODI Tri-Series match against the Afghanistan National Cricket Team at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah on Wednesday, October 21.
The 29-year-old made his ODI debut in the third match of the ODI Tri-Series, involving Zimbabwe also, but concerns over his bowling action have now put him in the spotlight.
Aliss Al Islam conceded 47 runs in 8.3 overs during his debut ODI match for Bangladesh in Sharjah. After Bangladesh lost the match against Afghanistan, the officials raised concerns about whether the off-spinner’s bowling action was legal.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that Aliss Al Islam will now undergo an independent assessment at an ICC-accredited testing centre, as per the ICC’s rules on illegal bowling actions. The assessment will decide whether his bowling action is legal.
