Trent Alexander-Arnold has been left on the bench for five of Real Madrid's last seven matches

It must have crossed Trent Alexander-Arnold's mind whether he has made the right move leaving Liverpool, his boyhood club and the club where he became a legend, for Real Madrid.

The Reds academy graduate has suffered a tough time since swapping Merseyside for Madrid and his prospects under new head coach Jose Mourinho do not look any brighter.

Alexander-Arnold has spent five of Real Madrid's last seven matches as an unused substitute with Mourinho preferring Denzel Dumfries and now Federico Valverde at right-back.

Back at his former club Liverpool, Andoni Iraola's ongoing issues in that position meant he was forced to field midfielder Ryan Gravenberch there in the second half of Tuesday's thrilling Champions League fightback against Villarreal.

Indeed, there is a strong argument to suggest the Reds have never replaced the player who won it all across nine senior seasons with the club.

So, if you were Liverpool, and you had the chance to bring Alexander-Arnold back, what would you do?
