While Barnsley undoubtedly have threats, there will also be areas that Cambridge United can exploit when they travel to Oakwell on Saturday.
Only three teams have conceded more goals in League One this term than the 19th-placed Tykes, who have won just two of their eight fixtures.
The U’s, in contrast, have lost just once since their return to the third tier, and they will head to Yorkshire sitting in fifth position and on the back of having recorded their first clean sheet of the campaign last time out in the 1-0 win over Blackpool.
Looking ahead to the clash, Cambridge boss Neil Harris said: “They’re a very young side that has got a lot of energy.
“They play with a real sense of freedom when they’re on top in games, and they’ve got eye-catching levels to their performances at times.
“You have to deal with that defensively against good individual players, but also collectively as well. They’ve also got pace for the counter-attack.
“They’ve probably not amassed the amount of points they would have hoped to get because they’ve conceded goals, but like every League One game, it’s a tough game for us.
“We’re going away from home, and they’re a team that can hurt you any moment, but they’ve also been hurt a lot as well, especially recently.
“As always, we’ll try to stop the opponent from being at their best, but then it’s about keeping focus on us and how well we’re going.”
In terms of team news, while Callum Perry (hamstring), Callum Stead (ankle) and Shane McLoughlin (calf) are all closing in on a return to full fitness, this game is likely to come too soon for the trio.
