Mika Baur’s performance in Celtic’s 7-1 victory over Hearts has attracted attention in Spain, with Spanish press highlighting the midfielder’s influence on Sunday’s emphatic win.
The German has shown plenty of quality since arriving at Parkhead, and his latest display offered another showing of how much he can bring to Martin O’Neill’s side.
Comfortable in possession and capable of opening up a defence, Baur helped Celtic take control of an afternoon that quickly became miserable for the visitors.

In its report on the match, GOAL España singled him out as Celtic’s midfield playmaker, centring their analysis on him.
At one point, the Spanish-language outlet wrote: “Celtic, with young international Mika Baur orchestrating play in midfield, dominated at will.”
Baur was unfortunate to finish without a goal himself.
Having worked his way through the Hearts defence, he lifted the ball over the goalkeeper before Stephen Kingsley’s attempted clearance struck Jamie McCart and went in.
The goal was recorded as a McCart own goal, but Baur’s quality created the situation.
Those moments demonstrated different sides of his game. His deliveries helped Celtic establish an early advantage, while his ability on the ball caused further problems once Hearts were already struggling.
It is easy to see why Jürgen Klopp wanted a closer look at Baur with Germany, with the midfielder earning senior international recognition following his move to Glasgow.
Sunday gave Celtic supporters another opportunity to appreciate that talent in a team playing with confidence.
The attention from Spain also comes ahead of Celta Vigo’s visit on Thursday, when Celtic need to turn an encouraging domestic performance into their first Europa League points.
