Fares Ghedjemis admits being sold on Frosinone's big vision was the reason for a big money transfer to either Celtic or Rangers falling through.
The Algeria star - who netted 15 times last season to help his side return to Serie A - was coveted by both sides of the Old Firm in the summer, as well as current Ligue 1 leaders Monaco.
Reports in Italy went as fair as saying that Frosinone had rejected bids in the region of £8million for the winger, who allegedly missed his team's first three matches of the season in an effort to force a move elsewhere.
Last week, Ghedjemis' agent confirmed that offers from Celtic, Rangers and Monaco were on the table and the player himself has now revealed why he decided to stay and pen a new four-year contract at the Benito Stirpe Stadium.
Speaking to Italian media ahead of Friday's night's clash with Sassuolo, he said: "The summer transfer window? It's over.
"I had my own ambition, but I spoke to the club, and they presented me with their new ambition of becoming a major club. I'm happy to have stayed and signed a new contract. Now I want to do well."
The 24-year-old also reserved special praise for his manager, Massimiliano Alvini, adding: "The differences with Serie B? I arrived three years ago as a young player from the French Serie C, while now I'm more mature.
"There's a big difference in intensity: you have to make the right choices and there's less room for error. I like this style of football better.
"Alvini? He's a great coach, he wants the best for all the players and wants to help them grow. He has a winning spirit, he gives love to everyone and I like that.
"He wants to make me improve. Would I sign to finish the season with 10 goals? No, ten goals is a great achievement, but I don't want to limit myself. I want to do my best."
