Bradley Barcola says playing for Liverpool is "very different" to what he is used to with PSG with the $166 million (£123 million) forward still adjusting to life in England.
Last week, Barcola scored his first goals for Liverpool. Then, before taking on Brentford at the weekend, the 24-year-old spoke to the French channel Telefoot, who asked him why he was getting cramp at times and how he was finding the step up to the Premier League having only ever played in France.
"I am trying to adapt because it is very different to Paris Saint-Germain," Barcola, who has also played for Lyon, said.
"The Premier League? It is different. I find that it is less tactical. In any case, we (PSG) had a very, very tactical manager (Luis Enrique), but I find that it is less tactical; there are fewer changes on the pitch.
"It is true that, with my former manager, I had to come inside, play down the wing, and someone else would then take my position. But here, it is very different."
During the game at Brentford, Barcola missed some big chances to build on the hat-trick he scored in the Champions League against LASK.
The biggest was early on when he scooped a chip wide when he was bearing down on Caoimhin Kelleher one-vs-one, but he also hit the crossbar from distance and bizarrely tried to pass to Lewis Koumas when he should have shot.
"Bradley, I think he has missed clear chances," Andoni Iraola admitted. "On another day he scores three, but I love that he’s having so many chances and being in those situations."
Barcola, who is still learning English, should make the starting XI again when the Reds host Villarreal in the Champions League, where he will be hoping to find the back of the net again.
"That's how it is in football," Iraola said after Barcola's goals against LASK. "You win a match, you're great; you play a bad match, you're a disaster.
Get Liverpool's new 2026/27 home kit
Liverpool FC have launched their new home kit for the 2026/27, inspired by iconic adidas strip worn during the club's 1989/90 title-winning campaign.
"It's the same for Bradley, as for everyone who works in football. You have to get used to it.
"You have to examine his involvement in the match with more hindsight. It is still very early, especially since he did not play a single minute during preparation.
"The more he plays with us, the more he plays with his teammates, the more he will improve."
