After deciding late that he wanted a career in sports journalism, Daniel worked his way up the ladder in an unconventional manner.
Having opted against university, Daniel worked with Sky Sports as a freelance contributor and translator during transfer windows while also volunteering on several other blog pages and outlets to get a portfolio of content together.
Daniel then worked with Barnet FC as part of their social media team before starting his own website, which focused on football and MMA content.
That eventually led to work with 90min and Reach PLC with The Mirror, Daily Record, Daily Express, and Manchester Evening News.
Following that, Daniel spent two-and-a-half years with Breaking Media covering Everton, Rangers, Leeds, West Ham and other clubs before joining GiveMeSport as a Premier League editor.
As well as football, Daniel is a huge MMA fan and has appeared on YouTube and podcast content too.

Arsenal secured a 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in the Champions League on Wednesday night in a strong performance between two of the favourites to lift the trophy.
The Gunners were rocked as Bukayo Saka suffered a thigh injury inside ten minutes, but substitute Eberechi Eze netted just minutes after coming on to give the visitors the lead. Harry Kane created the equaliser just after the half-hour mark with a stunning pass, as he found Alphonso Davies to slot past Raya.
The visitors fell behind in the second half on the hour mark after Harry Kane's shot hit Jurrien Timber's arm in the box, before the England captain netted from the penalty spot to give the hosts the lead. But Arsenal secured a point with a brilliantly worked goal from Declan Rice in the final ten minutes.
The best goalkeeper in the world proved himself once again, making some huge saves during the game to keep the Gunners in it, and could do nothing about either goal that did go in. A strong showing, despite the result.
Timber got back into the starting lineup for this game but he was taken out by a single pass by Kane for the equaliser, and then gave away the penalty for Bayern's winner. A tough showing from the Netherlands star.
Konsa showed once again why the team splashed big money on bringing him in during the summer. Made a vital block in the first half to deny Kane, and had a good performance as Arsenal dealt with plenty of pressure.
The Brazilian has grown into a true leader in recent seasons, and once again had a fantastic showing against world-class opponents. Was unlucky to be on the losing side.
With Kane dropping deep to be creative for Bayern, Calafiori's task of dealing with the winger running in-behind was difficult, but he dealt with it well and not much came down his side.
In a game of close margins, Rice's athleticism and defensive awareness helped Arsenal to keep possession and stay in the game. He struggled with creativity, but got the vital equaliser with 10 minutes left.
Arsenal had a great showing in midfield against top-class opposition, and Guimaraes didn't look out of place at all at the highest level before being replaced with a little over 20 minutes remaining.
The England international suffered a thigh injury in the opening ten minutes and was forced off before he was able to do anything.
The captain started brightly in midfield, and picked up a brilliant assist for Eze's goal with a long pass over the top of the defence, but his influence dwindled as the game went on.
The former Chelsea star had a difficult evening on both flanks, and didn't have much of an influence going forward.
Havertz continued in the starting striker role, but he offered next to nothing in the 68 minutes he played before being substituted. A very quiet night for the German.
Did it happen before or after?
Round 1 of 9
Got the opening goal just minutes after coming on with a fine left-footed strike, and showed that he does have the quality to make a difference at the top level.
The Hale End graduate did well after coming on for Guimaraes to help maintain the intensity and quality in the middle of the park.
Would have been disappointed to find himself on the bench once again, but came on and made an impact, registering an excellent assist for Rice's goal, and occupying the defence with his physicality and runs in behind.
