After the Las Vegas Raiders got off to a 3-0 start, it looked like they might be a surprise playoff team in the 2026 season. However, a four-game losing skid since has cast serious doubt on that possibility. Unsurprisingly, the losses have created new speculation that Las Vegas might look to move star pass rusher Maxx Crosby before the Nov. 10 NFL trade deadline, since they nearly moved him in the offseason.
Furthermore, Jason La Canfora reported this week that there are “several teams weighing a bid” for the five-time Pro Bowler, and the asking price is still believed to be two future first-round draft picks.
If the Raiders did start listening to offers in the next couple of weeks, we look at five teams that might pursue a Maxx Crosby trade.
The most obvious contender is the Dallas Cowboys. They tried to trade for the 29-year-old in the offseason to fill the void left by Micah Parsons being traded before last season. That void remains, and Dallas is tied for the fewest sacks as a team (7) after the first seven weeks.
They don’t have any extra first-rounders and only four picks in 2027. So would they really give up two firsts for Crosby? You can never underestimate Jerry Jones, especially with the NFC East wide open in 2026.
The Jacksonville Jaguars own a 4-2 record, and there are some NFL analysts who believe they could be a dark horse Super Bowl contender this winter. Speculation has grown that they could make a big trade before Nov. 10, and targeting a pass rusher makes sense since they are near the bottom of the league in that stat.
Could Las Vegas remove a first-round pick from the asking price if Jacksonville added receiver Brian Thomas Jr. and some of the extra Day 3 picks they have in April to an offer? It might be something the Raiders consider.
Another team that was connected to the Crosby trade rumors in the offseason was the Detroit Lions. The 4-2 team still has a top-shelf offense and a defense that remains a weakness. Pairing Crosby with Aidan Hutchinson would certainly make Detroit’s front four leaps and bounds better. It would also help their beat-up secondary.
Furthermore, the Lions may be desperate enough to give up two firsts to chase their first championship with a title window that won’t stay open much longer.
The New York Giants have been one of the biggest surprise teams in the NFL this season as they sit atop the NFC East standings with a 4-2-1 record. New York is actually among the league leaders in sacks with 21. However, recent reports suggest that bolstering the defensive line before the trade deadline is a priority.
While they aren’t as desperate as other teams on this list for pass rushers, their last two championships were a perfect example of how you can never have enough players who can get to the quarterback. Adding Crosby to a defense that has been improving each week could turn the Giants into a dark horse contender in the second half.
The Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen are once again in the thick of the Super Bowl chase after starting the season with a 5-1 record. And once again, their defense is the thing that could cost them a chance at a championship in February.
Crosby won’t magically make a defense giving up 28 points a game elite. However, he would get them much closer to average, and that could be enough. Especially if he can torment Patrick Mahomes in a playoff game. Buffalo might be desperate enough to give up two first-rounders to finally get the franchise its first championship.
