After the opening six weeks of the Spalding & District League, the top teams are jostling for the leadership.
Still in first position are Consti but close on their heels are Holbeach B.
Consti were at the unbeaten Donington A and remained undefeated thanks to a 5-2 win.
John Bellerby (r120) had a 200-158 win against Donington’s Ben Wrigglesworth (r10), to give Consti the advantage.
Nigel Brasier (r60) and Tony Scully (r10) had wins against Alan Hansard (r50) and Stewart Davies (r10) respectively to secure the win for Donington A.
Holbeach B are enjoying a purple patch as they very nearly made it three maximum wins in three, but still managed a 5-2 victory at home to Services. Denis Hix (r50) had a 24-point win against Vince Fitter (scr) to put Holbeach one up.
Levelling the match for Services, Phil Spencer (r90) had beat Andy Spearman (r60) 200-194 but Neil Harvey (r30) gave Holbeach the win by defeating Chris Dunmore (scr), 200-163.
Moving up one place to third are Donington B, who had a 7-0 win against Broadway. Neil Reynolds (o70) had a 200 start against Gary Norman (o270) and, despite Norman knocking in breaks of 27, 30, 31 and the highest of the week 58, Reynolds was victor and closed the game off with a 51 unfinished break.
Just two points separated the next game, as Mat Turner (r50) edged out Steve Singh (o50),
200-198, Singh making breaks of 22 and 38. Neil Burton (r90) rounded off a good night for Donington when he won against Paul Collichio (r10), 200-168, although in his first season Collichio managed a good break of 34.
Pyramid B entertained Gosberton A, with both teams in mid position in the league. Gosberton came away with a 5-2 win.
Putting them one frame up was Marcus Pell (o30) who had his best game of the season with breaks of 23, 26, 28 and 33 as he defeated Maurice Phillipson (r80), 200-170. Des Forbes (r60), made it 2-0 to Gosberton, winning against an out-of-form Phil Cooke (r110), 200-155 but Darrell Read (r30) salvaged two points for Pyramid with a 200-165 win against Shane White (o40).
The game between Gosberton B and Holbeach A was postponed and Pyramid A had no game.
