Thanks to a Las Vegas Raiders roster move, a former first-round draft pick has just become available for the Pittsburgh Steelers to sign.
According to NFL insider Ari Meirov, the Raiders released former New York Giants first-rounder Evan Neal. The Steelers would be wise to pay close attention, given that Neal would make an excellent depth option for Pittsburgh's inconsistent offensive line.
"The Raiders have released T/G Evan Neal," Meirov wrote via X. "The former No. 7 overall pick of the Giants was on the practice squad."
Neal, who was an exceptional offensive tackle for Alabama, was drafted by the Giants with the seventh overall pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He unfortunately struggled to make an impact in New York and would eventually transition to guard. Evans has appeared in 29 games and made 27 starts since 2022.
With offensive tackle and guard versatility, Neal would be a strong acquisition for Pittsburgh, immediately competing with Brock Hoffman and Max Iheanachor for a starting shot while also serving as a top depth piece.
