Vitinha talked about the development of Paris Saint-Germain at the start of the season.
The midfielder has seen the side begin slowly in Ligue 1 this term, picking up just one point from their first three fixtures. However, four successive wins have put them level with Olympique Lyonnais, AS Monaco and LOSC Lille, while they have a 100% winning record in Europe.
His confidence has not wavered in that time, taking lessons from his own trajectory with the club.
Vitinha signed for €41.5 million from Porto in June 2022, developing into a player recognised as one of the world’s best in his position under Luis Enrique.
Back-to-back Champions League titles as a key starter in the midfield trio for the Parisiens and a third place finish in the 2025 Ballon d’Or rankings reveal his status in the game, and the 26-year-old is targeting more success this year.
"Every player has ups and downs, but what we're trying to do is to be as consistent as possible and to make sure that those downs are as high as possible and that those periods are as short as possible.
“We have a lot of good players, which means that there's competition, but it's a very healthy and very positive competition for everyone. It forces us to always do our best, which I think is key.
“Personally speaking, I am in good form at the moment, and I hope to perform well tomorrow, too.
"This is my fifth season here, and I obviously feel different. I still need to improve in a lot of aspects, but I'd say that my time here so far has been wonderful. I'm proud of that, but I'm not done yet.
“Collectively speaking, I hope that we'll be able to win many more trophies, and individually speaking, I hope that I'll be able to keep improving."
