Taylor Swift was nowhere to be seen as Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs took on the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, according to multiple media reports. The pop superstar’s reported absence from the stands marked the second time this NFL season that she has skipped one of Kelce’s away games. While Swift has regularly supported Kelce at Chiefs home games, her no-show in Las Vegas was hardly surprising, particularly after she spent Saturday night in New York City making a surprise appearance on 'Saturday Night Live'.
According to ELLE, Swift was in New York the night before the Chiefs’ game, appearing unexpectedly on the October 3 episode of 'Saturday Night Live'. Her friend Dakota Johnson hosted the show, and Swift made a surprise cameo during Johnson’s opening monologue. That put Swift on the opposite side of the country less than 24 hours before Kelce and the Chiefs faced the Raiders in Las Vegas.
Swift did not make the trip to Allegiant Stadium as Kansas City secured a 27-20 victory over its AFC West rival.
Her absence also continued a familiar trend. Swift has generally been more likely to support Kelce in person when the Chiefs play at Arrowhead Stadium rather than traveling to road games. This was Kansas City’s second road game of the season, and Swift was not spotted at either. She also missed the Chiefs’ first away game against the Miami Dolphins.Swift’s absence in Las Vegas certainly doesn’t mean she has stopped supporting Kelce from the stands. According to the New York Post, the 14-time Grammy winner watched the Kanas City's home games from Kelce’s suite at Arrowhead Stadium as the Chiefs opened their season with a 31-10 victory over the Broncos in Week 1. She returned next week to see Kansas City edge the Colts 33-30 in an overtime thriller.
It has already been an eventful year for Swift and Kelce, who tied the knot at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 3, nearly a year after announcing their engagement.
Swift has also been keeping busy on the music front. She recently released 'The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore', a four-song extension of her hugely successful 2025 album, 'The Life of a Showgirl'. The new release features 'Patient Zero' among its four tracks.
Her appearances at Chiefs games have attracted considerable attention ever since her relationship with Kelce became public, but Swift has increasingly kept a lower profile at NFL games.
Sunday was ultimately a successful afternoon for Kelce and Kansas City even without Swift in attendance. The Chiefs left Las Vegas with another victory, while Kelce contributed to the offense with four receptions for 28 yards.
