Where are the New Orleans Saints picking in the 2027 NFL Draft? Despite slipping into a 2-5 record, they're barely inside next year's top 10 picks. And they may not hold onto it for long. It's looking like another down year around the league with four different teams owning just one win (or less) through the first seven weeks. Eight different teams have just two wins on the year so far.
And two of those two-win teams will play in Week 7's final matchup. Whoever loses between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles, they'll bump the Saints down out of the top ten. That's because strength of schedule is used for these tiebreakers, and New Orleans has the highest (.548) out of all these teams. Here's how the top twelve picks stack up according to Tankathon:
Los Angeles Chargers, 0-6 (SOS: .530)
Washington Commanders, 1-4-1 (.482)
New York Jets via Indianapolis Colts, 2-5 (.491)
Arizona Cardinals, 2-5 (.504)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 2-5 (.518)
New York Jets, 2-5 (.541)
New York Jets via Dallas Cowboys, 2-4 (.439)
Philadelphia Eagles, 2-4 (.469)
This is pending the results of Monday night's Eagles-Cowboys game, so check back for an update once that one is settled. But it's bad news for New Orleans. They're picking too low to land a blue-chip defensive prospect like Notre Dame cornerback Leonard Moore or Texas Longhorns edge defender Colin Simmons. That doesn't mean they can't get a difference-maker, but obviously the higher their pick, the better. Unless they surprise us and come out of the bye week ready to go on a run.
