Nick Wright has been left impressed with what he has seen from Angel Reese during the 2026 WNBA Finals so far.
After Game 3, which took place on Wednesday, Reese became the first player in league history to drop three consecutive triple-doubles in her first three Finals games and is the youngest player in WNBA Finals history to record three straight double-doubles.
Meanwhile, Nick Wright said ahead of Wednesday’s action that Reese has been phenomenal this year and her performances this postseason are giving her the opportunity to be one of the league’s best players behind A’ja Wilson.
Prior to Game 3, Wright said: “If Angel Reese was going to have her status as a player stay at the level of her status as a celebrity, she needed to get better. It felt like her game had stagnated, if not dipped. Well, this year, that changed considerably; she’s been phenomenal.
“Angel Reese’s performances these playoffs, as she might have her team on the doorstep of a championship, give her the opportunity to be right alongside, I’ll call it a step behind, A’ja Wilson as the top player in the sport.”
Now, after the Atlanta Dream’s latest win, he has taken to X to quote the video of himself saying the above. He doubled down on his praise, listing off her impressive resume, describing it as a ‘Helluva portfolio’ while saying she is one game away from being the 2026 WNBA Finals MVP.
He wrote: “Angel Reese is one game away from adding a Finals MVP trophy to go alongside her DPOY trophy, college National Championship trophy, NCAA Tournament MOP trophy. Helluva portfolio.”
