Brittany Mahomes brought some old photos back to Instagram, modeling sportswear and writing, “Archives never expire.” Patrick was right there in the comments, leaving two heart-eyes emojis. Just a quick, affectionate reaction that says he likes what he sees. It may give the post a boost, too, but between these longtime partners, the exchange feels easy rather than staged.
Their story began long before Patrick became one of the NFL’s biggest stars. The high school sweethearts met in Whitehouse, Texas, and stayed together as their paths took them in different directions: Brittany played college soccer and later professionally, while Patrick was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017. A year later, he became the team’s starting quarterback and threw for 5,097 yards and 50 touchdowns, earning the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award.
The milestones came quickly. Patrick proposed in September 2020, months after leading Kansas City to a Super Bowl LIV victory. Their first child, Sterling, was born in February 2021, and the couple married in Hawaii on March 12, 2022. Patrick and Brittany later welcomed their son, Bronze, in November 2022, and daughter Golden in January 2025.
Their lives grew beyond football, too. Brittany became part of the ownership group behind the Kansas City Current, and Patrick joined her in January 2023, making him the first active NFL player with an ownership stake in an NWSL team. Meanwhile, Patrick added Super Bowl wins and MVP honors in those games in 2020, 2023 and 2024.
That run has also included hard moments. Patrick tore the ACL and LCL in his left knee in December 2025, ending his season. After surgery and months of rehabilitation, he was cleared for training camp and returned to start the 2026 season.
The exchange between Brittany Mahomes and Patrick feels natural. After everything they’ve shared, it’s simply another way to show affection in their everyday lives including on Instagram and give the ad a little boost, whether they mean to or not.
