Yoann Damet is embracing the end of the regular season as St. Louis City SC begin to turn their attention to the playoffs in MLS.
St. Louis are third in the Western Conference following their impressive form, which started just before the World Cup break.
They host San Diego FC in their final home match of the campaign on Saturday, while they travel to the Houston Dynamo on Decision Day.
St. Louis could still finish second in the West, currently three points behind FC Dallas, and Damet is enjoying the run-in.
"It's a crazy feeling, to be honest," said Damet. "It's gone by just like that.
"It's a good time of the year. It's a time I've always enjoyed. I think if you take it the right way, and you understand that this group and what we've done and what we've built since January is coming to an end – the end of a chapter and the beginning of a new one.
"And if you embrace it and if you embrace sharing those moments with the people around you, I think it can be quite special.
"I think it's a little bit the feeling we have wanted to create, to be in the position we're in. We're approaching the end of the regular season and starting to think and focus on the playoffs."

Edelman scored a total of three goals across his 96 career regular-season matches prior to 2026 (all with the New York Red Bulls).
San Diego FC – Jeppe Tverskov

MATCH PREDICTION: ST. LOUIS CITY SC WIN
San Diego are winless in 10 consecutive matches (D5 L5) following their defeat to Vancouver. After opening the season with three straight wins, they have managed just five wins in their last 29 regular-season matches (D11 L13).
However, St. Louis have lost three straight MLS matches, allowing three goals in each defeat. It is the second time they have allowed three or more goals in three straight regular-season games (also August 2025).
San Diego are unbeaten in three all-time meetings with St. Louis (W2 D1), including winning each of the last two meetings.
St. Louis's only point against San Diego came in the first all-time meeting, a scoreless draw in San Diego.
