Manchester City suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season in a 2-1 loss against Aston Villa on Saturday. Nicolas Jackson gave Villa the lead early doors after Marc Guehi miscontrolled an Enzo Fernandez pass. The Blues responded well and they were level just after half time through Erling Haaland's header.
But with the momentum seemingly with City, they were hit with a sucker-punch. A counter from Villa led to Jackson's strike squirming underneath Gianluigi Donnarumma and into the back of the net. City were unable to recover from that setback. Haaland had a couple of chances but Villa defended well and held on for the win.
Heading out of the game, City had a couple of injury issues to contend with. MEN Sport has rounded up the latest injury news.
Injury: Groin
Nunes was not in the matchday squad to face Villa. When asked about his defender's fitness in his post-match press conference, Enzo Maresca said: "Matheus could be available for the next game."
Potential return date: October 28 vs Brighton

Injury: Cramp
Ndiaye played well in the defeat to Villa, having set up Haaland's equaliser. He was replaced in the second half leading to concerns about his fitness. However, Maresca eased those fears post-match. "He's okay, he had cramp, he was tired but he was very good between the first half and the second half," he said.

Injury: Back
O'Reilly was not in the squad in midweek but returned to the bench to face Villa. He was an unused substitute but could return next week.

Like O'Reilly, Kovacic returned to the bench on Saturday after missing the midweek match. He was also an unused substitute.

Injury: Leg
Semenyo is a long-term absentee. Maresca confirmed on Monday that he will be sidelined until December: "In the first moment we expect an even worse injury so we were more worried but after the scan we are less worried. It could be eight weeks.
"Now the most important thing is to recover it. When he is back, around December, we have a new player. It's not muscular."
