City return to the MKM Stadium looking to enjoy home comforts after defeat on the road last weekend

Setting the scene

Surely City can't sink any lower than the most desperate of performances we saw at Fulham last weekend. Sergej Jakirovic labelled it the worst since he took charge. If that is the standard going forward, then they will be lucky to get another point this season. Nobody will know that more than the players, who must surely be desperate to put right the wrong of Craven Cottage. With successive home games coming up this afternoon and then next Saturday against Ipswich Town, this is a real chance to get back to winning ways.

City's squad is boosted by the return of a couple of key players, which is a positive, and on home soil, they've looked good this season so far, and are unbeaten. Brentford have started well, but were beaten for the first time last weekend and saw two key men sent off.
