Not a good start for Vice City.

The Miami Heat dropped to a 0-3 record Saturday following a 115-110 defeat against the Charlotte Hornets. And to make it worse, they lost against a team who is coming off one of the worst defeats they've ever suffered as a franchise.

The Hornets were hammered Friday, 128-81, in their home-opening contest against the Atlanta Hawks prior to bouncing back against the Heat. On top of that, Charlotte forward Brandon Miller lit up the scoreboard for 34 points, which came after a dreadful performance against the Hawks.

To make it even worse for Miami, it's the first 0-3 start for head coach Erik Spoelstra in his entire 19 years as the skipper of the team, according to ESPN Research.

Trading for a generational talent like Giannis Antetokounmpo was supposed to usher in a glamorous new era in Miami, not make the Heat look like mid-March scrubs just trying to get a win for morale.

Sure, it's only three games, and it's way too early to panic. But at the same time, Miami just lost to a Hornets team that got blown out by nearly 50 points less than 24 hours prior. There's no sugarcoating that.

The concern here goes way beyond the box score, though it should be pointed out how dismal Miami's shooting has been, and they're getting open looks to boot. And on the defensive side of the ball, the Heat have been shockingly porous.

For all the talk about championship DNA and Erik Spoelstra's genius, this team currently has zero identity.

You can't bring in a two-time MVP and expect chemistry to magically materialize overnight, but you also can't have games where a team built to contend completely crumbles down the stretch against bottom-tier competition.

0-3 ... losing to the Charlotte Hornets ... with Giannis Antetokounmpo ... completely unacceptable.
