AC Milan are back in Serie A action in front of their own fans this evening as they take on Atalanta at San Siro.
Ruben Amorim’s men returned from the international break with a 1-1 draw away against Sassuolo from which some concerns arose. However, the 4-0 win over RB Salzburg in midweek was certainly a demonstration of what Milan can do, as Alphadjo Cisse netted a hat-trick.
Maurizio Sarri teams have never been easy for Milan to face historically, and Atalanta arrive as a team that have had a mixed start to the campaign. After Inter and Roma won on Saturday there is added pressure too. Below is how the newspapers in Italy look this morning.
La Gazzetta dello Sport front page: “Ramos tries again. Atalanta up next: San Siro awaits its goalscorer. Milan’s pursuit continues.”
La Gazzetta dello Sport inside: “Show what you’re worth. Ramos’s goals are a vitamin boost for Milan.
The Portuguese needs to follow up on his European goal. Atalanta are still waiting for the Englishman’s first breakthrough.”
“Amorim takes on Sarri. A ‘giochista’ football philosophy, but one tempered with wisdom.”
QS: “Milan take on the Atalanta taboo in search of a boost in the table.”
