Endrick contributed to Real Madrid’s glorious late comeback against Roma on Wednesday, getting significant minutes for the first time in the season. José Mourinho reiterated that he wanted to keep the youngster despite the Giallorossi and Milan’s interest.
The Special One dished on the Brazilian speedster in the post-game presser (via Fantacalcio).
“It’s impossible for him to go out on loan. I’m aware of his talent and know how much he can bring to the table.”
Mourinho had stated the same thing about Endrick before the clash to TNT Sports (via OneFootball).
“You should let it go and forget about the clubs keen on him. I love him. He has incredible potential and is very important to us. He dealt with an injury in the pre-season. Then there wasn’t the right chance to field him. I don’t think he needs to leave, and I believe he’ll have a great deal of success here with us.”
The 20-year-old had logged just four minutes before playing half an hour against Roma and scoring midweek. He’s been routinely linked to the capital club and the Rossoneri in the summer and more recently ahead of the January window.
Mourinho was pretty definitive on the matter and was instrumental in retaining him in the summer already. Still, the chatter will resurface in a month or two if he doesn’t play enough. There seems to be a disconnect with his camp, which is driving the buzz. The way to get him, at least for a year or two, is to do what Como did for Nico Paz, but Milan and Roma probably don’t have the means or gusto for it.
