Roman Reigns has picked out the wrestler who could replace him at the top of WWE.

The 41-year-old, who is the leader of The Bloodline stable, is currently the World Heavyweight Champion, a title he has held since he beat CM Punk at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas back in April.

Over the years, Reigns has won four WWE Championships, two WWE Universal Championships, and one WWE Tag Team Championship alongside Seth Rollins.

He also held the WWE Universal Championship for a record 1,316 days, which is the fourth-longest world title reign in the history of WWE, and he can be regarded as one of the greatest of all time, along with icons such as John Cena, Hulk Hogan, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

As the current top dog in WWE, Reigns will have a target on his back and in a recent conversation with Club Shay Shay, he spoke about who could replace him at the top.

Reigns went on to pick out Cody Rhodes as a potential candidate as his replacement.

He said: “Yeah, there has to be (someone putting themselves in position as face of WWE).

“Even within my career, we transitioned out of me briefly with Cody (Rhodes) because you need as much talent as possible. You want to lift up his money.

“We want to have as many tent poles holding this to scale it out, to make it as big as possible.”

While speaking about Rhodes, Reigns mentioned a potential problem that could be facing WWE going forward: the fact that the pair are of similar age.

Reigns stated that it is key that WWE continue bringing in younger talents that can replace the current generation, in order to keep growing the popularity of the sport.

The 41-year-old added: “So, a lot of people could be asked to take on that responsibility or help out. But yeah, me and Cody are of similar age. I think I’m just barely older than him.

“So yeah, we definitely need a younger guy to step into that role. I think we have a lot of young talent, a lot of fresh faces. And at the end of the day, they just got to go through their 10,000 hours. They got to put that time in.”

Aside from Rhodes, it has been mentioned that Oba Femi could be WWE’s choice to replace Reigns at the top.

Femi, 28, whose real name is Torioluwa Oshiumi Isaac Odugbesan, is a former two-time NXT Champion and retired Brock Lesnar by beating him in his final match.
