WR Tre Tucker stepped up Week 6 vs the Bills to earn Raiders Player of the Game.
The Las Vegas Raiders suffered a tough 33-30 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Las Vegas had chances to win, but they couldn't overcome a slow third-quarter start, in which Buffalo outscored them 10-0.
The Raiders had several strong performances; quarterback Kirk Cousins threw for 313 yards and two touchdowns, with one interception. Michael Mayer added seven catches for 95 yards, Linebacker Nakobe Dean added 12 tackles, and Jeremy Chinn added 10 tackles. Still, for the Raiders player of the game, I went in a different direction.
Wide receiver production has been a huge question mark for the Raiders this season. Against the Bills, Tucker had 5 catches for 97 yards and two touchdowns. His first touchdown came with 8:07 left in the first quarter on a well-thrown pass from Cousins for an 11-yard touchdown.
The second touchdown came with 1:32 left in the game when Tucker outran the cornerback and safety for a 44-yard catch on a strike from Cousins.
The speedy receiver's and ability to stretch the field created problems for the Bills' secondary throughout the game. The Raiders needed someone to make plays in the passing game, and Tucker answered with several important catches. His ability to separate from defenders gave the offense another option beyond its underneath passing game. When Las Vegas needed explosive plays, Tucker delivered.
