Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Christian Roland-Wallace was ejected from Sunday’s matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers at the beginning of the fourth quarter for throwing a punch.
Following a 3-yard rush by Chargers running back Omarion Hampton, guard Alex Harkey finished off a block on Roland-Wallace by pushing him away from the pile after the play had ended. That drew a penalty from the officials.
However, Roland-Wallace then responded by turning around and throwing a closed-fist punch at Harkey as he was down on his knees. That occurred within view of two officials who immediately disqualified the cornerback and ejected him from the game.
Harkey was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct for the shove and both teams were called for offsetting penalties on the play. At the time, the Chargers were trailing the Chiefs, 19-6.
