Dressing room insight as key Hull City man gives insight into Tigers' fine start

The Tigers are back on the road this weekend in West London against the bottom side

Mohamed Belloumi and John Egan have both made impressive starts to the new season

Hull City's excellent start to life back in the Premier League shows how hungry the dressing room is to do well, but says the Tigers can't take anything for granted.

City have nine points from their opening six games and head to Craven Cottage this weekend to take on a Fulham side yet to taste victory, and sitting bottom of the table on just two points.

While Egan has praised the job done so far, he knows if his teammates take their foot off the gas, they'll be punished, as they were in the opening 10 minutes at Newcastle United in their last away game, when they found themselves two down.

"Yes, it's a good start," Egan told Hull Live when asked to assess the opening six games. "We just have to take it game by game. We came up into this league through the play-offs, and the manager gave most of the lads a chance to stake a claim for the shirt, and I think it shows how hungry we are to do well.

"We've got a lot of new players in the door, a lot of quality players. We've got a really good squad, and results kind of breed confidence, and make everybody come in on a Monday morning happier.

"It's a results-driven business, and we're getting results. The Premier League is the toughest league in the world, so we have to keep going, keep our heads, and keep working hard.

"I think every single game in the Premier League is a tough game. You have to approach every game with the same mentality. Fulham away is a really tough place to go, so we're going to have to do our work on the training ground this week and then go down there and be at it one hundred per cent, because it doesn't matter who you play in this league; if you're not at it, you can get punished. It's another tough game coming up, but one we're really looking forward to."

After away sell-outs at Coventry City, Chelsea and Newcastle United, the Tigers will again be backed by just under 2,700 in West London after all tickets were snapped up two weeks ago. Egan says the support has been vital so far, even if it makes it harder to get tickets for friends and family.

"It's class, the fans are brilliant. They come everywhere, and it makes it harder for us to get tickets for our friends who want to go," he joked, "but, no, it's great to see every week when we're on the road, the support we get."
