Dolphins activate S Kyle Louis back to active roster

The Dolphins activated safety Kyle Louis off injured reserve, the team announced Saturday.

Miami also elevated kicker Zane Gonzalez and edge rusher Max Llewellyn to the active roster for Sunday’s game against the Jets.

Louis, a fourth-round rookie, made his NFL debut in the season opener. He played three defensive snaps and 14 on special teams before spraining an MCL.

Gonzalez replaces Riley Patterson as the Dolphins’ kicker this week.

Gonzalez, 31, was previously with the Dolphins during the offseason program and training camp. He was placed on injured reserve in August and released with an injury settlement on Aug. 19.

In nine games for Atlanta last season, Gonzalez hit 19-of-22 field goals and 17-of-18 extra points.

Llewellyn, a seventh-round rookie, made his NFL debut in Week 2. He played two defensive snaps and three on special teams.
