Penta may have lost to Roman Reigns on "WWE Raw" last month, but he still walked away feeling like a winner.

During an interview with "Busted Open Radio," the high-flying luchador raved about his time sharing a ring with "The Tribal Chief" in his hometown of Mexico City. "I learned a lot facing Roman Reigns because, to be honest, I know now why he is one of the best wrestlers, or the best wrestler in the universe. The character, the Shakespeare, every move, you can breathe, you can enjoy every move," Penta said.

"It's a different chip, but I like it, that chip. I like that style. I like this moment in the ring when it's the big bog, basically. He looks at me. I look at him. The whole crowd is with me, thank God. Everything was so special and magic, brother, because I can't imagine one moment like that in Mexico. When? How? Bro, but now I feel, and I am thankful with WWE, with life, with God, with all my fans, with all the people who believe in me."

The match between Penta and Reigns took place in the main event of "Raw" in Mexico City on September 14, with the latter's WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line. At one point, Penta seemed on the verge of victory when he delivered a devastating springboard Mexican Destroyer on the defending champion. Reigns kicked out, however, and eventually picked up the win for himself with a spear.

This bout marked the first one-on-one faceoff between Reigns and Penta. For Penta, it also marked the first televised world title opportunity of his WWE career. As the 2026 Money in the Bank winner, he now has the option of making a rematch at any time and location of his choosing.
