Tyler Huntley points to critical mistakes behind Ravens’ scoring drought

The Baltimore Ravens haven't had much trouble finding the end zone early in games. They've scored a touchdown in the first quarter in all but one game, but sustaining that production has been a different challenge at times.

Their offense opened Sunday's loss to the Cleveland Browns with two scoring drives before struggling to maintain that rhythm. That left Baltimore searching for answers. Those questions carried into preparations for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Tyler Huntley believes the issue comes down to execution and the details that can determine whether an offensive drive continues or stalls. He shared with the media on Friday that the Ravens have spent the week examining those mistakes and working to make sure their preparation translates into a more consistent performance on game day.

"I think it's just [about] locking in more [and] focusing on execution on each and every play, the details. That's what really matters. [It's] the little things, and doing those better than we did last week."

Baltimore's opening drives against Cleveland showed the offense could move the ball and score, but the subsequent drop-off showed how quickly that progress can disappear when the details aren't right. Offensive coordinator Declan Doyle acknowledged that the unit had too many issues across the lineup, from the offensive line to the quarterback position, and said the performance fell short of the team's standard.

Huntley's comments reinforce that assessment. The problem isn't necessarily a lack of talent or an absence of productive concepts; it's the need for all 11 players to execute their assignments consistently enough to keep drives alive.

Ravens need to sustain their offensive rhythm. That challenge becomes particularly important against Cincinnati. The Bengals have strengthened their defensive front, allowing them to disrupt plays before they develop. Baltimore will need cleaner blocking, better decisions and more consistent execution if it hopes to avoid another extended stretch without points.

Tyler Huntley emphasizes preparation translating to Sundays

The Ravens' work during the week has focused on correcting the mistakes that contributed to their offensive struggles. Huntley stressed that the details addressed in meetings and practice must carry over when the team takes the field.

"[We're] working on those throughout the week in practice and letting it translate from the meetings to the practice field, just so when we go out there on Sunday, we're sharp and hitting on all cylinders."

That emphasis will matter regardless of who starts at quarterback. Lamar Jackson has been working his way back from a high-ankle sprain, but he's listed as questionable. Baltimore must be prepared for either quarterback to lead the offense.

Huntley has continued preparing as usual, knowing the final decision could come close to kickoff. The quarterback situation may draw much of the attention, but the broader offensive challenge remains the same.

Baltimore needs to execute consistently enough to sustain drives, respond when defenses adjust, and turn promising possessions into points. Against Cincinnati, the Ravens will have another chance to show that they can correct the problems exposed against Cleveland. Huntley's message is straightforward: the improvement must show up in the details, one play at a time.
