A Scottish Cup feeling of deja vu.
Elgin City have been drawn at home to Partick Thistle in a third round rematch of last season’s fourth round Borough Briggs clash.
City edged past University of Stirling on Saturday and will now take on the Championship leaders, who won 3-2 at Elgin last term.
Two Ryan Sargent goals pedded Jags back to 2-2 before Ben Stanway’s deflected effort on 80 minutes squeezed the Glasgow team into the quarter-finals.
Partick went top of the Championship on Saturday with a 3-0 success over Stenhousemuir and have been on top form in recent weeks.
The third round draw also handed north opposition to Caley Thistle and Ross County.
Caley Thistle will welcome Cove rangers to the Caledonian Stadium while Brora Rangers’ reward for an extra time win over Cowdenbeath is a short trip down the road to Dingwall to meet Ross County.
