After a statement victory over Billingham last weekend, the Hawks were looking to keep their title charge flying rather than let the long trip to Telford clip their wings.
The Tigers started strong this season and with the home ice advantage, it would take time for Blackburn to find their feet in Shropshire.
James Royds eventually broke the deadlock just past the midway point of the opening period, with Jack Brammer providing the assist to give the visitors the lead.
The Tigers bit back, Brodie Jesson levelling the score less than three minutes later, proving that Telford were a threat up front.
The Hawks soon regained control though, as Captain Jacob Lutwyche converted from just outside the crease following a sensational skate from Garry Simpson.
Blackburn then struck a late blow before the first intermission, Elmeri Hallfors finding the net with just eight seconds remaining, assisted by Andy McKinney and Lee Pollitt, to give the visitors a two-goal cushion.
Hallfors doubled his tally midway through the second period, combining with Adam Barnes and Reagan Kidd to put further daylight between the sides.
Telford were handed a lifeline shortly after, however, as Bryce Irwin capitalised on a powerplay following Liam Charnock’s boarding penalty, with Ferguson and Dan Mitchell assisting to cut the deficit to two.
The Tigers threatened to bare their claws, but Blackburn refused to let the hosts back into the hunt.
Simpson added his name to the scoresheet at the halfway point of the period, finishing off a move assisted by Lutwyche to restore the Hawks’ three-goal advantage and put the result beyond doubt.
While the forwards enjoyed another productive night in front of goal, Dmitri Zimozdra proved equally instrumental at the other end.
Telford threw 40 shots at the Blackburn net, only for Zimozdra to keep the Tigers firmly caged.
With this win seeing Blackburn go 3-for-3 on the road, they saddle up and finally return home this Saturday.
The Widnes Wild ride into the Nest, but Blackburn will be looking to ensure they’re the ones left holding the reins on Country Night.
