NRL enforcer Nathan Brown becomes Super League club’s 11th signing for 2027

NRL enforcer Nathan Brown has had his long-awaited Super League move confirmed with the veteran prop inking a deal for the 2027 season.

The 33-year-old will link up with Catalans Dragons next year, becoming Les Dracs’ 11th signing as they have a complete overhaul of their squad after finishing ninth.

A former State of Origin prop and ex-Italian international, Brown has 201 NRL games to his name but he’ll now take his talents to Super League, specifically Perpignan.

It’s long been reported that Brown will make a switch to Super League and Catalans have always been touted as the club among the frontrunners and they have not got their man.

Brown becomes the club’s 11th signing for 2027 with six of those being overseas players, five of which have hailed from the NRL. Fellow NRL recruits include Jesse Arthars and Tyson Gamble, as well as pack pair Luciano Leilua and Hame Sele. Oldham’s Cole Geyer is the other quota player to sign for Les Dracs alongside Brown.

Confirming his signing, Catalans shared a statement that read: “Catalans Dragons are delighted to announce the signing of Nathan Brown for the 2027 season.

“The 33-year-old experienced Italian international prop will join the club ahead of the 2027 season, with a further year as an option.”

A professional of well over 10 years, Brown skippered Italy at the World Cup in 2022 whilst also representing the Azzuri in the 2017 World Cup in Australia.

He will bring significant power to a forward pack that has lost Edenn Rogers-Smith (Leeds Rhinos), Benjamin Garcia (retirement) and Zac Lipowicz (Perth Bears).

As well as the six overseas recruits, Catalans have also signed Hull FC pair Arthur Romano and Amir Bourouh, Hull KR’s Joe Burgess, Castleford captain Alex Mellor and St Helens’ young French talent Luca Walsh.
