Barcelona have confirmed in an official statement that a defender will be unavailable for the next four weeks due to injury.

Maintaining a fully fit squad during a grueling schedule represents one of the toughest challenges for any modern manager.

With major European showdowns and fierce domestic rivalries looming large, even a minor physical setback during a routine league match can completely destabilize weeks of tactical preparation.

The physical toll on players operating at peak intensity is relentless, and medical staff evaluations can make or break a team’s championship aspirations.

In an official statement released by the institution, Barcelona has confirmed that a key defensive duo has suffered injuries ahead of the upcoming clash, with a versatile star ruled out for four weeks.

The club announced that both defenders picked up physical complaints during their recent victory over Real Betis, leaving manager Hansi Flick with massive selection headaches.

According to the official Barcelona statement, versatile defender Eric Garcia has suffered a muscle injury to the rectus femoris in his right thigh and is facing an estimated recovery period of three to four weeks.

Additionally, Jules Kounde has sustained a sprain to his left ankle, ruling him out of the upcoming European fixture, with his availability for the subsequent Clásico remaining day-to-day.

The double blow comes at the absolute worst possible time for the Blaugrana as they prepare to navigate a brutal stretch of matches.

With Andreas Christensen already sidelined, the latest updates leave the defensive line dangerously depleted ahead of a monumental UEFA Champions League battle.

Flick will now be forced to completely restructure his tactical setup, relying on squad depth and emerging talents to patch up the backline.

As the medical team works around the clock to manage the recovery timeline, supporters are left hoping that the remaining squad members can shoulder the immense burden during this challenging phase of the season.
