Diego Moreira was the big hero for AC Milan in their 3-1 win against Inter and afterwards, he shared his emotions with the media.
Ahead of tonight’s Derby della Madonnina, Ruben Amorim got the likes of Mario Gila, Adrien Rabiot and Diego Moreira back at his disposal. All three of them started, but the Belgian ended up playing the biggest part in the Rossoneri’s win.
Bagging two assists within the first ten minutes of the game, he then followed that up with a lovely free-kick just before half-time. Inter were pushing for an equaliser then and the goal really drained their energy, so he was deservedly named MOTM in our ratings.
Speaking to Sky Italia a few minutes ago, as relayed by MilanNews, Moreira thanked Kaka for allowing him to wear the No.22 shirt. However, he made it clear that Milan won’t get carried away, taking things game by game from here on.
A Kaka-esque goal with Kaka’s number and with him in the stands…
“I’m very happy with the match. All my teammates and I did a great job, we always stayed together: we cleared the danger, which allowed us to get the three points. I’m very happy.”
Is the Scudetto race reopening?
“We have to stay focused, one game at a time. We can’t think about the Scudetto right now. It’s still early in the season, so there are still a lot of games to play, and we will take it step by step. Let’s win one game at a time, and then we will see.”
Is this the best night since you’ve been at Milan?
“Sure, for now it’s the most beautiful”
Do you want to say something to Kaka?
“Thank you for coming and giving me your number.”
