Harry Maguire’s performance caught the eye of Manchester United alongside another key Red Devils star in the 1-1 draw against Leeds United on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils had a cagey opening 30 minutes at Elland Road before Manchester United finally broke the deadlock against Leeds United thanks to Bryan Mbeumo.
The year football boots peaked
Leeds trailed Man Utd 1-0 going into the half-time break after Bryan Mbeumo’s impact in the 35th minute before immediately bouncing back in the second half.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin cancelled out United’s lead in the 51st minute and neither Leeds nor the Red Devils could break the deadlock before the full-time whistle.
Another great performance from Baleba but Fernandes on the other hand…
He should have scored, I thought it was in
Maybe it is a good thing. If he is no good the rest is giving up. MB scored but the header was just sad. After last afrcan cup he is just been awful
He looks fed up. I’m coming around to the possibility this could be his final season here
Harry Maguire saw out the full 90 minutes at Elland Road and the 33-year-old former Manchester United captain delivered with his Premier League performance. Leny Yoro, much like Maguire, saw out the match until the full-time whistle after starting at right-back.
Jamie Carragher hailed Maguire’s performance as “fantastic” on Sky Sports, but United fans felt that Leny Yoro might have stood out even more in the 1-1 draw.
“Yoro [was] my player of the match — even out of position, he’s the best player,” an X user shared.
Another Man Utd fan wrote: “Could [have] went for it earlier, but we didn’t capitulate at 1-1; plenty to build on. Baleba and Yoro are serious talents that we have to build around.”
“Maguire and Yoro did great, though. Want to see more of that partnership,” somebody else commented.
Someone else suggested: “A big improvement and a decent result against a strong Leeds side who were at home. Thought Maguire was outstanding, as was Yoro, who played out of position and even Dalot — yes, you read that right.”
“Dalot, Maguire and Yoro all good today. Apart from that, nothing much to say,” a fifth Red Devils supporter claimed.
While a sixth argued: “Yoro was outstanding and Maguire was decent (his type of game that).”
Another wrote: “Only Yoro and Maguire showed up for this game today.”
“Yoro, I’m so proud of you, man,” an eighth said.
Man Utd have won once and picked up four draws and suffered two defeats from their opening seven Premier League matches under Michael Carrick. The Red Devils are still in 13th place in the Premier League table after Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Leeds at Elland Road.
