An inspection at Fakenham Racecourse has led to the decision to cancel the meet on November 2 as the ground was deemed unsafe.
A spokesman for the course said the effects of the dry summer were still impacting the racecourse.
Large areas of grass died during the hot summer months and were reseeded, but the new turf has not established well enough to ensure safe conditions for horses and jockeys.
It is the second meet that the racecourse has cancelled so far this season, including the season opener on October 16.
"After an inspection by a BHA course inspector, a racecourse director, the head groundsman, and the clerk of the course, it was unanimously agreed that the grass growth of the reseeded areas of ground are still not advanced enough for safe racing to take place on November 2," the spokesman said.
"However, an additional race meeting has been approved for Fakenham by the BHA on Sunday, November 22.
"This gives the ground an additional three weeks to recover, which is what is needed."
