Truro City return to Enterprise National League South action on Saturday as the Tinners travel to Hampton & Richmond Borough with John Askey’s side looking to bounce back from last weekend’s Emirates FA Cup exit.
Truro suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat away to National League outfit Sutton United in the fourth qualifying round. Emmanuel Osadebe’s first-half strike proved decisive, bringing City’s cup campaign to an end despite a determined performance in South London.
The defeat ended a three-match winning run across all competitions, which included an impressive 2-1 comeback victory over Braintree Town and a commanding 3-0 success against Birmingham City Under-21s in the National League Cup.
Attention now returns back to the league, where the Tinners have enjoyed a fine start to the campaign. City currently occupy fifth place with 21 points from their opening 11 league fixtures, remaining firmly among the early promotion contenders.
Saturday’s hosts have endured a more difficult opening to the season, with Hampton & Richmond sitting 22nd in the table after collecting eight points from 11 matches. The Beavers have recorded just two league victories so far and enter the contest without a win in their previous three league outings, most recently suffering a 2-0 home defeat against Ebbsfleet United.
