Tadley Calleva’s FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round replay at home to Aldershot Town sold out in 10 minutes, club officials say.
The Romans put on a famous performance at the Recreation Ground on Saturday, twice battling back from a goal down to earn a 2-2 draw and bring the Enterprise National League Shots back to Barlows Park.
Joe Lawler’s side have already busted a club best FA Cup run set last season, where they reached the Second Qualifying Round, beating non-league giants in the process. This season, Lawler’s men are just 90 minutes from a historic FA Cup First Round Proper tie – potentially against the likes of Sheffield Wednesday or Leicester City – after playing and winning all five rounds of the competition so far.
Tickets for Tuesday nights replay were always likely to be in high demand. A capacity set at 1,000 by ground grading, 150 tickets set aside for Aldershot supporters and an attendance of almost 900 from Tadley at Aldershot for the original game on Saturday.
After taking time to take stock, club officials launched online only ticket sales on Sunday evening, reporting that the full 850 allocation was taken up within 10 minutes – “faster than an Oasis concert,” one social media follower quoted.
Football in Berkshire will be offering coverage of the tie on our social media platforms, and the club are investigating live stream options.
Tadley Calleva have confirmed Barlows Park will be open on Monday night to screen the FA Cup First Round Proper draw with all welcome.
The draw has been confirmed for Monday 19th October at approximately 6:35pm, and will be televised live on TNT Sports 1, HBO Max, and on the TNT Sports YouTube channel. Tadley are ball number 71 in the draw.
It means ahead of the replay, both Tadley and Aldershot will know their reward for winning the game.
