FSU continues to push for flip of key DL target

Florida State is looking to round out its 2027 recruiting class, and that includes pursuing flips of committed players. One of their top targets in that regard is three-star defensive lineman Jason Lewis, who pledged to the Syracuse Orange during the summer.

FSU hasn't given up trying to get the 6-foot-4, 260-pounder to flip to them after being heavily involved in his recruitment at one point. In fact, he mentioned last week that a visit to Tallahassee could happen when Florida State ends the season against the Florida Gators.

Per Matt LaSerre of Warchant, Lewis is one of the key flip targets to watch for FSU.

Florida State was one of Lewis’ top options over the summer, and he was even trending to the Seminoles after his official visit to Tallahassee, but that quickly changed after his Syracuse trip.

FSU has recently started picking the pace back up in this one, along with Mississippi State. Both schools are pushing for visits. Florida State general manger John Garrett was even at Lewis’ school last week during the bye, sources close to him tell Warchant.

Lewis is listed as the No. 543 overall recruit in the country and the No. 61 defensive lineman in the Rivals industry rankings. He's also the state of Florida's No. 45 prospect.

It would be a nice boost to the Seminoles' haul at defensive lineman in the 2027 cycle if they could add Lewis to four-star Sam LeJeune and three-star Eric Vaulx Jr. If they do get him to visit in November, they need to pull out all the stops.
