Emiliano Martinez has undergone surgery on his fractured jaw
Emiliano Martinez has revealed he will be "back in a few weeks" after going under the knife following a sickening head collision during Chelsea's 2-0 victory at Everton.
Martinez clashed heads with Jarrad Branthwaite as the pair competed for a cross, and after more than eight minutes of on-pitch treatment, the Argentina international was stretchered off into a waiting ambulance.
The shot-stopper later took to Instagram to share a photo of himself in a hospital bed, writing: "Thanks to everyone for the messages, the operation went well. The most important thing is that we won and with a clean sheet. We'll be back in a few weeks."
Martinez's club team-mates showed their support for the injured goalkeeper, with Moises Caicedo and Morgan Rogers among the players to react to his social media post.

Caicedo wrote "my brother" while Rogers referred to Martinez as "my goalkeeper".
Chelsea later released on a statement on Sunday confirming the goalkeeper fractured his jaw. It read: "Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has undergone successful surgery on a fractured jaw.
"Martinez was injured following a collision midway through the second half of our 2-0 victory over Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday.
"Martinez was taken to hospital for further assessment, which confirmed a fractured jaw that required surgery.
"Everyone at Chelsea wishes Emi a speedy recovery and will support him throughout."
Prior to his injury, Martinez had played his part in Chelsea's 2-0 triumph, which also secured his side their first Premier League clean sheet in nine months.
Speaking in the immediate aftermath of the match, Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso confirmed that Martinez had been taken to hospital for "precautionary tests".
