The starting grid for the United States Grand Prix will differ from the final qualifying order due to various grid penalties for changing power unit components.
Kimi Antonelli claimed pole position for the United States Grand Prix, where he could secure his first-ever Formula 1 world title. The Italian driver finished just under two tenths of a second ahead of Max Verstappen, who will join him on the front row of the grid.
The second row will be made up of Verstappen's teammate, Isack Hadjar, and Ferrari's leading driver, Charles Leclerc. Lewis Hamilton finished marginally behind his teammate and will start Sunday's Grand Prix from fifth place. He will be joined on the third row by his former Mercedes teammate, George Russell.
The McLarens will make up the fourth row of the grid. Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris will start from seventh and eighth place, respectively.
Rookie Arvid Lindblad was the best of the rest behind the leading teams, qualifying ninth, but he will be relegated to P14 on the grid due to the use of an additional power unit element.
Gabriel Bortoleto and Franco Colapinto finished 13th and 14th, respectively, on Saturday, but both will start from the back of the grid. Colapinto has a 10-place grid penalty, while the Brazilian Audi driver has accumulated penalties totalling 80 grid places. See the provisional starting grid below!

Antonelli is currently 102 points ahead of Russell and 111 points ahead of Hamilton in the standings. The Mercedes driver needs to extend his lead to more than 125 points by the end of the weekend to claim the title.
This means that if he wins, and Russell finishes no better than ninth and Hamilton finishes no better than fifth, Antonelli will become the youngest F1 world champion ever.
